Falls Prevention Therapist

We have an opportunity within our falls prevention team in the Taranaki region which may be the role you are looking for.
As our Falls Prevention Therapist, you will lead the delivery of the programme which aims to decrease the number of falls in the Taranaki region. Like the other members of your team, the work you do will contribute to our physically well programme.
You will provide falls prevention assessments and appropriate strength and balance programmes to identified patients.
Not only will you develop and implement care plans, you will also provide education and promotion of self-management to patients, whanau, caregivers and other health professionals.
Pivotal to the success of the programme is the work of the Falls Prevention Assistant. You will enjoy mentoring the Assistant by providing clinical oversight, education and guidance to ensure safe, effective, best practice programmes are delivered.
Our star candidate
We're looking for someone who has a working knowledge and understanding of assessment and patient centred best practice strength and balance programmes.
You will also:
- be a registered Physiotherapist, or Occupational Therapist or have an equivalent health qualification or experience in a similar clinical role, with a current practising certificate
- previous experience in a community setting
- have the ability to develop relationships with a variety of groups e.g. hospital and community-based services
- have excellent oral and written communication skills
